Liat Kirby-Nagar, Thank you for your response to my story. I agree with you entirely about people sharing such issues . I was truly blessed . Frederick was very progressive for the times he lived in. I found out(another part of synchronocity ) that the year I was born, and again on the actual day) Frederick wrote a very strong letter to The Age Newspaper, demanding that women and in particular, women teachers, should get equal pay.Thank you again.

Hello Michael,

I've just finished reading 'Homage to Frederick'. It's a moving piece of writing and I found myself simultaneously celebrating in my heart the portrayal of your encounters with Frederick, whilst being sadly aware of the fact that in this fast, electronic era fewer people are going to have the opportunity to find or see beauty by way of such a person. What you have shared with us by writing about it is very important, and timely.

An anecdote to share with you: my older son thanked me a few months ago for opening his eyes to beauty as he grew up and said he considered it the pivotal and most important thing he carried with him into adulthood. He reminded me of the times when, as a child, we returned from shopping at the greengrocers and, after arranging the various fruits in all their shapes and colours on a large gold embossed dish that had once belonged to my grandmother, I would stand back and say to him, "Look at that! Now you know why Cezanne painted fruit.".

It's a beautiful story you tell, Michael. Thank you.
warm regards,
Liat Kirby-Nagar
