About
This website belongs to the Diasporic Literature Spot. D.L.S. is a modest literary non-profit organisation which promotes works by writers in the English and Greek languages using electronic media. Its aim is to offer a podium for writers and a source of comparative quality literature to the visitor.
For a writer to become a member they need to read our D.L.S. Charter and if they agree with conditions set-out to sign the agreement for membership on this web-site. In order to be accepted as a member one has to abide by some pre-determined Charter regulations. These are outlined in the organisation’s D.L.S. Charter page which is a document that explains obligations and rights for each individual member.
Writers who are members can submit works on their own accord to this web-site. Each work submitted concerns the individual and does not hold the organisation responsible in any way. Each writer can submit an article, a poem, an essay etc to the web-site using their own login and article submission page. All articles submitted belong to the writer and the D.L.S. organisation has no right in promoting / using any article / text without prior creator knowledge.
There’s intention that at the end of each calendar year a number of articles submitted to this web-site are selected to create the Annual D.L.S. journal (title to be determined) in electronic format which is then promoted and forwarded to interested parties, organisations, universities. The D.L.S. journal will also be stored on this web-site for future reference and use, in Adobe pdf format. It is up to the administrator(s) at the time to select works and then inform writers by email that their work has been selected to be included. Writers have to agree to their work being included, prior to the D.L.S. journal being made public. Each writer is given 7 days to reply.
Articles can include photographs, video, music etc, as long as no size limits are breached as per D.L.S. Charter. Please be reasonable. If a video or music file is added to an article it will be assessed by the administrator and it may be removed if unacceptably large. Images do not normally pose a size threat, however some guidelines on size are also in place. Any images breaching size rules may also be removed. Images of pornographic or religious nature are not acceptable.
There may be minimal cost associated with membership, however at this early stage it still needs to be set. Whatever happens we’re striving to keep this a free service to the community of writers and we promise it will remain so for the duration of 2009. A writer has to remain active in order to remain a full member, and this means they need to have submitted at least one article per calendar year, or two page length poems or a 500 word text of any literary value. The initial signing up of a member involves an agreement which will be accepted by the writer including a short biographical information, a photograph if possible and a list of works published thus far.
