Τη θάλασσα τη γαλανή την αφροκυματούσα
πήγα να δω τ’ απόγευμα και κει που περπατούσα
στο μυρωμένο δειλινό και στη ξανθή την άμμο
ένα κογχύλι πάτησα το μάζεψα απο χάμω
Σε πέτρα επάνω κάθισα να δω τις ομορφιές του
πώς τάχα να γινήκανε στο σώμα οι πληγές του;
και η ψυχή η ξάστερη τί νάγινε και κείνη;
πάει, για πάντα πέταξε; απόμεινε οδύνη;
Σαν και σένα είχα σπίτι οικογένεια μάνα βιός
μα η μοίρα η κακούργα μου τα έφερε αλλοιώς
με πετάξανε στην άμμο οι φουρτούνες της ζωής
μόνο, ξένο, ορφανεμένο άκρη δεν μπορείς να βρεις
Έλα σπίτι μου κογχύλι σαν και σένα είμαι και γω
έλα να γινούμε φίλοι με ελπίδα στο Θεό.

About The Author
I was born in Limassol, Cyprus and migrated to Australia in 1974.
I have a Diploma in Interpreting and Translating from R.M.I.T University and a Graduate Diploma in Educational Administration from the University of Melbourne. For many years I worked with the Victorian Education Department- Student Services -assisting hundreds of non-English speaking background children integrate smoothly into the school community. I've also worked as an Education Officer with the Equal Opportunity Commission, as a Translator with Centrelink and as a journalist with SBS Radio.
Articles of mine have occasionally been published in "Neos Kosmos" newspaper. I'm currently in the process of translating an interesting Autobiography of an elderly Australian-Greek man who wants to leave it as a legacy for his grandchildren.
I love reading and writing literature and poetry. My writing comes mainly from the heart and from personal experiences. I write to express my feelings and to know I'm not alone!
